Silent Witness is dedicated to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Mime, as well as promoting excellence in dramatic art (especially mime). We perform mime in the style of Marcel Marceau, and much of the training we have received has been from Mimeistry International (now Innovo Physical Theatre).
If you are familiar with mime only from the ones you meet on the street whose purpose is to alternately entertain and mock you, don't worry, that's not what we do. Most of our performances have a sound-track, be it a story, an instrumental song, or a song that tells some story. Our job is to tell you a story, using the song (if there is one) as our canvas.
We perform at our home church from time to time, but the majority of our performances over the last 5 years or so have been at other churches that have asked us to visit them. We are happy to perform for whatever church organizations ask us, although we have never been asked to travel farther than we could drive. We are blessed to be a ministry of our home church, and as such, we do not charge for performances, although we do accept love offerings.
We also have the ability to lead workshops and are available to help in the launching of new mime troupes with a concert and some training. If you are not in our area, but would like someone to come and help you get started, let us know, and we may be able to put you in touch with someone from your area. We are in contact with mimes all over the United States and beyond.
